Brita Water Filter Pitchers are some of the most popular filtering pitchers out there due to how easy they are to use and maintain.
However, like other water filtering methods, they need their filters changed every now and then.
For starters, knowing when to replace your Brita’s water filter depends on the model you have and how frequently you use the pitcher. For example, if you own a pitcher with a Brita Standard Filter (white-colored filter), you might need to replace it about every two months.
But how do you know what filter you should on your Brita? Here’s what you need to know:
Denali Brita Pitcher
If you own a Brita Denali Water Filter Pitcher (6-cup capacity), this pitcher is compatible with the Elite Filter (blue-colored), the Standard Filter (white-colored) and the Refillable Filter (white and gray-colored).
According to Brita, the Standard Filter lasts 2 months and filters around 40 gallons of water on average. If you have hard water, however, you may need to change filters more often. The Elite Filter on the other hand needs to be replaced every 120 gallons or twice a year for best results, the company said.
Tahoe Pitcher
The Brita Tahoe (10-cup capacity), which comes in white and black, is also compatible with the Elite Filter (blue-colored), the Standard Filter (white-colored) and the Refillable Filter (white-colored).
Stream Water Pitcher
If you own a Stream Water Pitcher, these are only compatible with the Stream filters. These filters last around two months and filter a total of 40 gallons of water on average.
Ultramax Water Dispenser
If you have the 27-cup-capacity Ultramax Water Dispenser, these are compatible with the Elite Filter (blue-colored), the Standard Filter (white-colored) and the Refillable Filter (white-colored).
Ultraslim Stream Water Dispenser
The 25-cup-capacity Ultraslim Stream Water Dispenser is only compatible with Stream Filters. These filters last around two months and filter a total of 40 gallons of water on average.
Lake Water Pitcher
If you own the 10-cup-capacity Lake Water Pitcher, these are compatible with the Elite Filter (blue-colored), the Standard Filter (white-colored) and the Refillable Filter (white-colored). These come in white or light blue.
Pacifica Water Pitcher
If you own the 10-cup-capacity Pacifica Water Pitcher, these are compatible with the Elite Filter (blue-colored), the Standard Filter (white-colored) and the Refillable Filter (white-colored). These come in black, white or red colors.
Champlain Water Pitcher

Rapids Stream Water Pitcher
If you own the 10-cup-capacity Rapids Stream Water Pitcher, these are only ompatible with Stream Filters. These filters last around two months and filter a total of 40 gallons of water on average. This pitcher comes in Carbon Gray, Island Green and Lake Blue colors.
